BJP Government at the Centre is enemy of Government employees—Congress.

New Delhi: –Holding the BJP-led Central Government responsible for the large scale unemployment, price rise, GST and the heavy losses suffered by small traders, medium-level businessmen and industrialists following demonetization, and the resultant economic slump, the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, under the leadership of DPCC president Shri Subhash Chopra, started a Halla Bolrally today. In the first phase of the campaign, an Aakrosh Rally was held at Sector I, R.K.Puram in the New Delhi Parliamentary constituency in which besides the Congress workers, local people also participated.

The Aakrosh Rally, held under the aegis of DPCC president Shri Subhash Chopra, was also addressed by former Union Minister Shri Ajay Maken, chairman of the Campaign Committee Shri Kirti Azad, AICC Secretary Shri Kuljeet Singh Nagra, senior leader and chief spokesperson Shri Mukesh Sharma, Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress president Sharmistha Mukherjee, Delhi former Minster Dr. Kiran Walia and former leader of MCD Shri Jitender Kumar Kochar. District president Virender Kasana presided over the Aakrosh Rally.

The angry Congress workers and local people shouted slogans against the Modi Government and the BJP for the present plight of the Indian economy. The Congress workers, carrying placards with slogans, also held a demonstration against the BJP in the main markets after the Aakrosh Rally. The presence of a large number of Government employees and their family members proved that they have lost faith in the Modi Government which is against the Government employees. The youth in the rally shouted slogans such as “Modi Sarkar Hai, Hai; Modi Sarkar Dhokha Hai, Dhokha Hai etc.”

Addressing the agitated Congress workers and the local people, Shri Subhash Chopra said that the country was facing the worst economic condition for the first time after independence due to the anti-people policies of the Modi Government at the Centre. He said that educated young people were roaming around without jobs, and 74 per cent youngsters in the age-group of 18-23 years were not able to join colleges. Shri Subhash Chopra said that even young graduates are not able to get jobs due to the pitiful economic condition in the country. Shri Chopra said that neither there was employment in the country, nor any improvement in the plight of the farmers.

Shri Ajay Maken, addressing the Congress workers and local people, said that if the Modi Government states the truth instead of juggling with statistics, then the ground reality would be very frightening, as in the first quarter of 2019-20, the GDP growth was at an abysmal low of 5 per cent, which was very shameful for the Modi Government. Shri Maken said that IMF, Fitch, World Bank, Moodi’s and even the Reserve Bank of India, have cut India’s growth forecast. He said that India has dropped to the level of 7th largest economy from being the 5th largest in the world. He said that the people of Delhi are the worst-affected by the economic slump.

Shri Subhash Chopra, Shri Kirti Azad and Sharmistha Mukerjee said that the interest for the Employees Provident Fund of the Central Government employees has been cut from 8.7 per cent o 7.9 per cent, which proves the anti-Government employees attitude by the Modi Government. Shri Chopra and Shri Maken said that the dearness allowance of the Government employees, which had been hiked to 107 per cent after 2006 by the Congress Government, was raised only by 17 per cent by the Modi Government, which was a betrayal on the trust of the Government employees.

Chief spokesperson Shri Mukesh Sharma said that the Delhi Congress will intensify its Halla Bol agitation in the coming days, which will continue till 25 November. He said that as part of the Halla Bol rally, an Aakrosh Rally will be held at Badarpur and Mehrauli in South Delhi tomorrow.
