This the 19th edition of Swami Haridas Tansen Sangeet Nritya Mahotsav, organized by Bhartiya Sangeet Sadan by (Dr. Uma sharma) to revive the heritage and tradition of classical music and dance. This all is performed to promote our heritage dance and classical music to our today’s generation, to make over the interest in the real music, dance and Indian art which is given and born in our country. The programme is supported by Shri Ram Centre of Performing Arts, HCL, SRF Ltd., Modern School, Art Karat and Hotel Lemon Tree.
In today’s time our youth is attracted more to western and pop music which is going in our industry, but in this they are forgetting one most important thing our heritage dance and music.
Swami Haridas Tansen Sangeet Nritya Mahotsav is organized every year by (Dr. Uma sharma) for todays youth that they should know their heritage culture and dance tradition, from which their country is known in all over the world. This (MEHFIL ANDAAZ) is the atmosphere created in the event so that people should feel connected while our dance performances and music shows, audience should get that purity of Indian classical Sangeet.
Dr.Uma Sharma the PADMA BHUSHAN kathak dancer who is conducting this event from last 18 years to encourage today’s generation and to absorb our traditional dance and music in a kind of environment created like (MEHFIL ANDAAZ).Endeavoring and commemorating the legendry guru- shishya parampara in the (MEHFIL ANDAZ) through our programs.
As western music and dance forms take over the Indian art forms dedicated to SWAMI HARIDAS and MIAN TANSEN ,the four day event will see the legends like VISHWAMOHAN BHATT (MOHAN VEENA), SMT. PARWEEN SULTANA(VOCAL), USTAD AASHISH KHAN (SAROD), BIKRAM GHOSH (TABLA), USTAD WASIFUDDIN DAGAR(DHRUPAD), PT.CHANNULAL MISHRA(VOCAL), PT.HARIPRASAD CHAURASIA(FLUTE), PT.RAJENDRA GANGANI (JAIPUR GHARANA KATHAK), DR.UMA SHARMA(KATHAK NRITYA BHAV), USTAD SHUJAAT KHAN(SITAR), PT.ULHAS KASHALKAR (VOCAL), AMAAN ALI BANGESH(SAROD), AYAAN ALI BANGASH (SAROD) AND USTAD AMJAD ALI KHAN (SAROD).
This duration of program is 4 days and the festival of music and dance will be held on 9th ,10th ,11th and 12th of january,2020 at 6:30 pm at SHANKAR LAL HALL,MODERN SCHOOL,BARAKHAMBA ROAD ,NEW DELHI.
