CBI arrests two more in West Bengal post poll violence

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested two absconding accused in a case related to death of Shri Avijit Sarkar resident of Sitala Tala Lane, Kolkata. These two arrested accused are among those 12 absconders in a case in which 20 accused were chargesheeted earlier.
The CBI had registered the instant case on 25.08.2021 on the orders dated 19.08.2021 of Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta (West Bengal) and had taken over the investigation of a case, earlier registered at Police Station Narkeldanga, Kolkata vide FIR No. 124/21 dated 02.05.2021 on a complaint. The case had been registered against unknown 7/8 accused on the allegations that the accused attacked the victim with sticks and also broke the household articles of his house. The victim was rescued but due to being beaten brutally; he was shifted to hospital.
After investigation, a chargesheet against twenty accused was filed in the Court of ACJM, Sealdah (West Bengal) on 30.09.2021. The arrested accused were produced before the Competent Court at Kolkata and remanded to two days Police Custody.
