Youth Congress protested outside the residence of Shri Rajnath Singh, Minster of Defence over deleting the report of MoD

New Delhi, 07 August 2020: The Indian Youth Congress today protested outside the residence of the Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh ji over miraculous disappearance of a report from MoD website, which admitted the fact of Chinese transgressions into Indian Territory since the month of May, 2020. Shri Harish Pawar ji, the National General Secretary of the IYC led the protest. During the protest the IYC team followed Social distancing norms and wore masks and gloves.

It is pertinent to mention that during an All Party Meeting, Shri Narendra Modi had in an evasive monologue said that there has been no transgressions by the Chinese PLA into the Indian Territory. When questions were raised on this statement, the BJP leadership and its Spokespersons consistently maintained that the Chinese have not transgressed into the India Territory. However, yesterday a report on Major Activities of Department of Defence for the month of June, 2020 surfaced online, which categorically admitted that since May, the Chinese PLA has transgressed the LAC into various areas. However, when questions were raised on the statements of PM at the All Party Meet vis-a-vis the report by Ministry of Defence, the same was deleted from its website. This demonstrates a clear attempt by the Ministry of Defence to save the PM from embarrassment and questioning on account of the said report. Hence, the office bearers and members of IYC led by Shri Bhaiya Pawar marched to the Defence Minister’s residence at 17, Akbar Road and protested the attempt of misleading the public and the opposition.

IYC National Secretary Shri Mukesh Kumar, Delhi PYC Vice President Shri Ranvijay Lochav and several other youth congress activists were present in the protest.
