BJP and AAP trying to divert main issues by putting blame on Shaheen Bagh—Subhash Chopra

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Subhash Chopra accused the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party of trying to politicize the Shaheen Bagh protests in a bid to evade the core issues affecting the people of Delhi. Shri Chopra said that both BJP and AAP were trying to give communal colour to the Shaheen Bagh protest against the CAA and NCR to polarize the voters. Shri Chopra asserted that the Congress party will not allow the BJP and AAP to succeed in their nefarious agenda.

Addressing the media during his campaign for Kalkaji Congress candidate Shivani Chopra today, Shri Subhash Chopra said that the public transport was in a mess, roads were broken, rising pollution levels, polluted water and rising crime rates were the main issues dogging the people of Delhi, but both BJP and AAP were playing politics on the Shaheen Bagh protest to divert the attention of the people by propagating lies and falsehood.

Shri Subhash Chopra said that the Shaheen Bagh issue was very serious but unfortunately, both BJP and AAP were to sidetracking the issue. He said that in a democracy, people have every right to hold peaceful protests to express their views, and what is happening in Shaheen Bagh is a symbolic protest against CAA and NCR. He said that the fact that women, children and old people are sitting on dharna braving the chilling cold weather shows the seriousness of the issue, but the BJP and AAP seem to be least concerned, as these parties have not bothered to initiate a dialogue with them. He said that it seems that what is prevailing in the country is not democracy but an autocratic rule. Shri Chopra said that it was time the AAP Government in Delhi and the BJP took the initiative to have a dialogue with the people of Shaheen Bagh to find peaceful solutions to the issues they have raised. He said that it was very important to talk those sitting on protest to find a solution to the issue.
