New Delhi: The Indian government has decided to send an all-party delegation abroad to seek international support against Pakistan-backed terrorism. The move comes after recent tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, which New Delhi blames on Islamabad. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has welcomed the decision, with its Delhi State President, Saurabh Bharadwaj, calling it a “positive step.” However, Bharadwaj also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy, stating that despite over 80 international trips by the PM, India failed to secure strong condemnation of Pakistan from major global powers during the recent standoff. “PM Modi undertook numerous foreign visits, ostensibly to strengthen India’s diplomatic standing, but when we faced a crisis with Pakistan, no major power explicitly named or condemned Pakistan,” Bharadwaj said during a media interaction. The AAP leader acknowledged the government’s new initiative as a potential improvement, suggesting that involving representatives from multiple political parties could enhance India’s foreign policy outreach. The decision to send an all-party delegation marks a shift in India’s diplomatic strategy, emphasizing cross-party consensus in countering terrorism. The government has yet to disclose which countries the delegation will visit or the timeline for the engagements. No official response has been issued by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or the Prime Minister’s Office regarding AAP’s remarks on Modi’s foreign policy record.
