Replying to a question, Dr Shashi Tharoor said that both BJP and AAP get information about the elections beforehand, but not the Congress. He hailed the Delhi Congress for taking the right steps at the right time.
Dr Tharoor and Shri Subhash Chopra slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for finding no time to visit the injured students of Jamia Millia and JNU in the violence following their peaceful protests which clearly proved that he was an irresponsible Chief Minister who has no concern for the plight of the students. Dr Tharoor said that he would visit the Jamia Millia in a day or two to interact with the students. Replying to another question, Dr Tharoor blamed the Modi Government for bringing the Citizenship Amendment Act as a deliberate attempt to divert people’s attention from pressing issues like economic distress, unemployment and price rise. He said that the BJP was trying to create religious polarization in the country in a futile bid to derive political capital.
Dr Shashi Tharoor complimented the Pradesh Congress for not only supporting the protests of Jamia and JNU students, but also coming out on the streets to boost the morale of the students. They asserted that the Congress will continue to oppose NRC, but will never support the slogans to divide the country. They said that the Congress will continue to oppose the Modi Government’s move to snatch people’s democratic right to protest. Dr Tharoor and Shri Subhash Chopra said that people want freedom from the calculated political terrorism being unleashed across the country. Dr Tharoor expressed his confidence that Congress will win the Delhi Assembly elections with a huge majority.
Shri Rohan Gupta and Shri Mukesh Sharma said that within one week, Delhi Congress will mount an aggressive campaign on social media to counter the propaganda and falsehood being spread by the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party. They said that a big social media team was working for this outreach task, which will be announced shortly.
