Kejriwalseems to have woken up from his deep slumber—now remembers about ShaheenBagh—Subhash Chopra

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Subhash Chopra has reacted sharply to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s statement on Shaheen Bagh, which has been in the news for the last one and a half months. He said that Kejriwal had been on a deep slumber for one month and 12 days but has suddenly woken up to remember Shaheen Baghm, to resume his shadow-boxing with the BJP. Shri Chopra equated this situation to more or less the same as when Rome was burning, Nero was playing fiddle. Shri Chopra said that when children were being beaten up in Shaheen Bagh, Jamia and JNU, to protect them, the mothers and sisters had to take to the road while Kejriwal was playing comfortably like Nero at his Government house set in many acres of land in the prime area of Delhi. He asked Kejriwal ”Why this belated show of sympathy for Shaheen Bagh?”.

Shri Subhash Chopra said that women, old people and children have been sitting on a dharna for the last one and a half months even in this shivering cold in the Shaheen Bagh, demanding the withdrawal of CAA and protection of the Constitution, butt Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia did not get the time to meet them or say a word in their favor

Shri Subhash Chopra gave his full support on behalf of the Congress to the Shaheen Bagh protestors, adding that CAA should be taken back to maintain communal harmony in Delhi and to salvage the deteriorating situation in the county. He said that the Delhi Congress cannot remain a silent spectator when attacks are unleashed on people and citizens by anti-social elements wearing masks and the police. He said that while Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal is doing vote bank politics, BJP is spreading communalism and pitting brother against brother.
