New Delhi: In a Press Conference held at Pradesh Office today Leader of Opposition Shri Vijender Gupta has said that Chief Minister Kejriwal is the greatest hindrance in allotment of Pucca houses to the Jhuggi Dwellers. He informed that the DDA has invited tenders for the construction of 40 thousands houses in 32 camps and also started the survey for construction of pucca houses in 160 Jhuggi Camps. Media Incharge Shri Pratyush Kanth, Co-Incharge Shri Neelkant Bakshi, former Mayor and DUSIB Member Shri Adesh Gupta, Smt. Tulsi Joshi and Shri Rajiv Kumar were present on this occasion.
Accusing the Delhi Government, LOP Shri Vijender Gupta said that Kejriwal Government has kept the clearance for the survey in Jhuggi Basties for the construction of pucca houses pending for 10 months even after the required amount was deposited by the DDA. When the DDA pressurized for the survey then he started the survey for CM housing scheme on the land owned by Central Government. The DDA also wrote a letter to Delhi Government that this survey is in violation of the rules of Delhi Government and should be stopped. After that the DDA itself started the survey on 28th August.
Demanding that 185 DUSIB camps should be included in the survey by the DDA, he said that 5173 Jhuggi Dwellers had deposited 39.40 crore rupees at the rate of Rs. 68000 each for this purpose after taking loan from the Bank. Yet the Delhi Government did not allot any pucca house to them whereas 52000 flats have already been constructed by the Delhi Government and they are in very dilapidated condition. Delhi Government has allotted 600 crore rupees for their repair. Out of this 17000 flats have been constructed by DUSIB and yet not a single house has been allotted to the Jhuggi dwellers.
Shri Gupta further said that on Monday, DUSIB Member and former Mayor Shri Adesh Gupta, Smt. Tulsi Joshi and Shri Rajiv Kumar will raise question on behalf of BJP in the meeting of DUSIB that why the flats have not been allotted to the persons who deposited money after taking loan. Why the Delhi Government is not allotting houses under Jahan Jhuggi Wahin Makan as part of PMAY and that why the 185 camps of DUSIB have not been added in this scheme. In addition, it will also be asked that why there are no street lights in the Jhuggi Clusters and why the Corporations were not allowed to install street lights. He pointed out that the Chief Minister of Delhi himself holds this meeting and if proper answers are not given then this meeting will not be allowed further.
