New Delhi: Today is the death anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, former president of the Congress and a great leader of the National freedom Movement. On this occasion, a tribute meeting was organized in his memory at the Indian Youth Congress headquarters in New Delhi. Krishna Allavaru, Joint Secretary of the All India Congress Committee and In-charge of the Youth Congress and National President of Youth Congress Srinivas B.V. ji garlanded Netaji’s portrait and paid their respects and tribute to him. Krishna Allavaru recalled the role of Subhash Chandra Bose, saying, “Subhash Chandra Bose’s contribution as a freedom fighter and Congress President can never be forgotten. It was he who formed the planning committee of the Congress under the chairmanship of Jawaharlal Nehru, from which we proceeded towards planned development after independence. His love for the nation supported global friendship and Indianness. Today we all remember him and cherish his thoughts in our hearts.”
Paying tribute to Netaji, National President of Youth Congress Srinivas B.V. said, “The nation is grateful to Netaji’s contribution as the 55th President of Congress and we all take a pledge that we will keep striving for his ideology of secularism, equality and brotherhood. We are all indebted to the contribution of Azad Hind Fauj and Netaji. As the supreme commander of the Azad Hind Fauj, his struggle for the independence of India with the support of the Japanese army is unforgettable.”
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was the 55th president of the Indian National Congress and a staunch opponent of the British. Subhash Chandra Bose was the first to call Mahatma Gandhi the Father of the Nation. He worked to unite Indian troops against the English army in Singapore, Rangoon and Japan.
