New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Subhash Chopra said that people remember the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi as a Government of ‘self-publicity’ as its work was visible only in media advertisements and hoardings and not at the ground level. Shri Chopra said that the Kejriwal Government has indulged in very big corruption in the name of giving 200 units of free power to the consumers as it helped the power companies reap crores of rupees of profit. Shri Chopra said that five years ago, AAP had made many promises to the people of Delhi, but instead of fulfilling those lofty promises, it even stopped all the development works started by the Congress Government. Shri Chopra said that the five-year report card of the AAP Government released today was a “fraud paper” as AAP’s promises remained only on paper.
Shri Subhash Chopra said that if the five-year report card of the AAP Government was that good, then what was the need to hire the services of election expert Prashant Kishore’s company I-PAC, as the fact was that the Kejriwal Government was scared of defeat in the upcoming Assembly elections in Delhi. Shri Chopra said that the truth is that Kejriwal’s 70-point report card was meant to mislead the people as it was full of lies and falsehood as the statistics were all concocted. Shri Chopra asked why the buses in the depleted DTC fleet were not increased in the last five years as during the time of the Kejriwal Government public transport became the biggest casualty. He said that the AAP Government remembered about Wi-Fi in Delhi only after completing almost five years in office.
Shri Subhash Chopra wondered why the promise of building 500 new schools were not fulfilled despite having possession of the land. He said that the fact was that not a single new school was built by the AAP Government. Shri Chopra also asked why the promise of building 20 new colleges by the AAP was not fulfilled as not a single new college was opened? He said that despite having land to build over 14 new Government hospitals, not a single new hospital was constructed.
Shri Chopra said that during the five-year rule of the AAP Government, pollution levels hit dangerous and severe levels many times, and piped water in Delhi supplied by the Delhi Jal Board, headed by Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, is not fit for drinking. He said that Kejriwal’s promise of giving 20 litres of free water also remained a hollow promise.
Chief spokesperson Shri Mukesh Sharma said that the Kejriwal Government’s claim of spending over Rs 8000 crore for the development of unauthorized colonies was a major scandal and beset with corruption which should be thoroughly probed. He said that the roads in unauthorized colonies were broken and sewers were chocked with dirty water as no desilting in the drains have been carried out. Shri Sharma said that sewer-pipe laying work in unauthorized colonies was started by the Congress Government.
Shri Mukesh Sharma announced that DPCC president Shri Subhash Chopra will come out with a postmortem report on the 70-point report card of the Aam Aadmi Party.
